My name is Olga Wieczorek and I began Kiss the Paper with the hopes of turning my passion of letterpress printing into a career. I graduated from OCADU in 2011 from Printmaking where I spent most of my time in the etching and letterpress studios. I knew I had to continue printing upon graduating as it became a part of being, so in the summer of 2012 I purchased my first press, a Chandler and Price Pilot 6.5x10", which needed a lot of love and restoration. Once I got it working I began printing greeting cards and coasters, and started showing my work in local craft shows and fairs. In the meantime I acquired a Chandler and Price 12x18" Old Style and a 25" Reliance paper cutter. All of my printing resides in my home in the country where I can spend time designing, creating and printing with more space than I could dream of.
My mission with Kiss the Paper is to create luscious letterpress goods that reflect my passion for printing. I want deep impressions, bright and bold colours, classic packaging and smart design. I love drawing with pen and having it transformed into a vector file with Illustrator; at the same time I love the crisp lines of the pen tool. I use a combination of photopolymer plates, hand-set type and linoleum carving.
